There are many different kinds and brands of materials available for painting in watercolor. Don’t throw away your favorite brushes and paints if they are not mentioned here. However, before you head to the art supply store, let's look at a few options that just might save you some time and money. When beginning with watercolor, I believe that selecting proper tools and materials will greatly influence not only the rate you learn but it also affects the results you get. And that does not mean buying the "most expensive." Buying appropriate supplies that suit your needs, fit your budget, and have high performance levels is different than purchasing the most expensive materials available. Equal quality does not mean equal price.
